Frequently Asked Questions

Which OBD2 adapters are compatible?

OBDrive works with Bluetooth (Classic) ELM327-based OBD2 adapters. We recommend the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+. Wi-Fi adapters are not supported.

My car doesn't show fuel consumption data — why?

Fuel rate (PID 015E) is not supported by all vehicles. If your car's ECU doesn't expose it, OBDrive will attempt to estimate consumption via MAF airflow. Some cars simply don't broadcast this data over OBD2.

How do I connect the OBD2 adapter?

Plug the adapter into your car's OBD2 port (usually under the dashboard). Open OBDrive, tap the connect button on the Drive screen, and select your adapter from the list. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled.

Can I use OBDrive without an OBD2 adapter?

Yes! OBDrive records GPS-based trips (distance, route, duration) without an adapter. OBD data like fuel rate and engine stats require the adapter.

What is OBDrive Pro?

OBDrive Pro unlocks unlimited trip history, advanced analytics, eco scoring, and Live Activity widgets. You can subscribe monthly or purchase a lifetime licence.

How do I restore my Pro purchase?

Go to Profile → Subscription → Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Why is the fuel price wrong for my country?

OBDrive fetches prices automatically based on your location. If the price seems off, you can update your profile's fuel type (diesel / gasoline) in the Profile tab.

Is my data stored in the cloud?

Trip data is stored locally on your device with optional iCloud sync. We do not store your location or drive data on our servers.
